COVID-19 Updates

The Brolga Theatre is doing everything it can to provide a safe venue free from any health and safety risk including COVID-19. The Brolga is operating under a COVID safe Checklist: Restricted Business and following Queensland and Federal Government guidelines.

Update: Thursday 2 January 2022

Masks will be required to be worn when attending the venue in accordance with the Public Health Face Mask Requirements Direction (No. 4) Effective from: 1am AEST 2 January 2022.

  • Unless an exemption applies to them, a person must wear a face mask covering the person’s nose and mouth at all times when the person is in an indoor space.

For more information about mask requirements visit the QLD Health website.

Update: Thursday 9 December 2021

Please note the Queensland Government Direction relating to Public Health and Social Measures linked to vaccination applies to this venue. Like all businesses and organisations, Council needs to abide by any lawfully made Public Health Direction.

This means that only fully vaccinated (16 + years) or medically exempt patrons, staff, artists and crew will be allowed to enter the venue.

This direction will be in effect from 5am Friday 17 December 2021 and will apply while the public health emergency is in place. Currently its duration has been extended by regulation to 26 March 2022.

So, what does this mean for you as a current ticketholder for an event that will take place after this change takes effect?

  • If you are fully vaccinated (have received two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine), you don’t need to do anything other than make sure you will have proof of your vaccination status or medical exemption with you for your performance.
The easiest way to do this is to upload your vaccination certificate or medical exemption to the Check In Qld app (instructions on how to do this are here). If you don’t have a mobile device or it is not new enough, there are other ways you can provide proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status.
You can show us a printed copy of your:
    • immunisation history statement
    • COVID-19 digital certificate or a
    • written confirmation of COVID-19 vaccination provided to the person as part of the vaccination process, such as a record of vaccine card;
  • If are not fully vaccinated or cannot provide evidence of your COVID-19 vaccination or of a medical contraindication you will not be permitted to enter the venue.

If this is the case for you, please contact the box office on 074122 6060 at least three days prior to your performance for a full refund.

We suggest you keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for any further updates prior to your performance date to allow you to make any changes to your booking.

We are working to make this transition as seamless as possible and ask that you be patient and kind to our staff and volunteers.
