The Big Sing is back for 2024. Leading Bundaberg musician Christie Maree Jacobsen will be our singing coach for an Aussie rock classic sung as a 3-part harmony. You don’t need to be a great singer to join in – just be wanting to have a fun night out.
Bridges is the leading provider of mental health, drug and alcohol services and programs for people in the justice/ correction systems in the Wide Bay Burnett region. Bridges is committed bringing programs like The Big Sing to the community as part of their arts-led wellbeing strategy.
Singing relieves stress, improves lung function, increases natural oxytocin and dopamine and builds a sense of community belonging. All of this is important to our individual and community wellbeing which is why this event is being presented as part of Queensland Mental Health Week.
This is what people said last year after participating in The Big Sing:
“It was the most uplifting experience of the year.”
“Excited and inspired. Feeling I need to sing more as part of a community.”
“My energy lifted dramatically and I felt really positive.”
“Sad it was over. Loved every minute of the night.”
Whether you enjoy a good sing in the shower, belting it out on the jobsite, car karaoke or love singing in general, The Big Sing is an event we can all come together for. Bring along a friend for a great night out; or come with a larger social or work group and enter our Big Sing Challenge. Keep an eye on Bridges social media for further details about the challenge.
