The Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra presents Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dances and Piano Concerto No. 2, under the baton of Maestro Johannes Fritzsch (90 minute concert including interval followed by an opportunity to meet the conductor and musicians in the foyer after the concert).

The dances are Rachmaninov’s final composition, a vibrant orchestral work in three movements reflecting the composer's mature style, blending lush Romantic melodies with 20th-century harmonic elements. The 'Rach 2' concerto as it's affectionately known is considered by many to be the finest piano concerto ever written, and will be played by Reuban Tsang, winner of the Nancy Weir Best Australian Prize at the 2023 Sydney International Piano Competition. Rachmaninov's music captivates listeners with emotional depth, rhythmic vitality, and brilliant orchestration, leaving a lasting impression almost unparalleled in the realm of orchestral music.

This will be a concert not to miss!
