“A Girl’s Guide to World War” is based on the true story of Australia’s own Dr Agnes Bennett.
With compassion as her guide, Agnes sets off on a journey that takes her to the frontline, and sees her become a decorated war hero. And for the first time, in the chaos of the Great War, Agnes discovers love, freedom … and power.
“A Girl’s Guide to World War” is the first regional Queensland theatre production to win the major Matilda award for Best New Australian Work.
Actress Susie French (Menopause the Musical, Mamma Mia) also took home Best Supporting Actress. You'll love her no-holds-barred performance as Dr Lilian Cooper (Queensland's first female doctor).
Featuring the award-winning all-girl band “Vix and the Slick Chix”, and written by Queensland couple Katy Forde and Aleathea Monsour, “A Girl’s Guide to World War” celebrates an untold story of love, courage and compassion in the chaos of war.
