Launching the 2021-22 Metropolitan Opera Season at The Brolga is a candid profile of the young and charismatic Met Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, one of the world’s most sought after conductors.

The Metropolitan Opera proudly present Yannick: An Artist's Journey. Described as 'sensitive, candid, accomplished, and polished in all the right ways...' by The Inquirer, the feature-length documentary by award-winning filmmaker Susan Froemke profiles Canadian musician Yannick Nézet-Séguin who in 2018 became the third Music Director of New York’s Metropolitan Opera.

Following the maestro's inspiring journey from ten-year-old budding conductor to the pinnacle of the opera world, the film captures the alchemy of the creative process and explores what it means to refine the soul of an artist.

Filmed prior to the pandemic shutdown but premiering in 2021, the cameras also follow Yannick’s preparations of Verdi’s La Traviata and Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites during the Met’s 2018–19 season.

Please note this screening will be held in the Federation Room

Duration 1 hour 45 minutes, no interval.
